No extra charge for Wi-Fi hotspots or tethering
Data for a Wi-Fi hotspot or tethering all comes out of your data budget. It’s $10/GB just like data on your phone.
Note on international use: If you set up a Wi-Fi hotspot while traveling outside the U.S. (in supported countries), it still costs $10/GB. It doesn’t come from your data budget though, and you’ll be charged separately.
International rates
In over 120 supported countries around the world, you can enjoy data for just $10 per GB (the same rate as in the U.S.), cellular calls for $0.20 per minute, and texts at no additional cost. You can also make calls over Wi-Fi. The rates for calling over Wi-Fi depend on the country you’re calling and can be more or less than $0.20 per minute.
Keep in mind that data speeds in the 120+ supported countries will be limited to 256kbps.
